Manufacturing guide

China or Thailand PCBA: planning a manufacturing route

Compare product maturity, materials, testing, qualification and logistics before selecting a production location. A second factory is useful when the product definition can move with the build.

Start with the product

Five questions before choosing a location

DecisionWhat to establishUseful project information
Design maturityPrototype, pilot, stable repeat build or product transferReleased files and open engineering changes
Material routeApproved sources, customer-supplied items and alternativesBOM, AVL and material-origin requirements
Process and testRequired assembly processes, fixtures, firmware and coverageWork instructions and test definition
QualificationCustomer audit, pilot acceptance and applicable product requirementsAudit checklist, sample and acceptance criteria
DeliveryDestination, order pattern, pack-out and commercial responsibilitiesForecast, packaging and logistics requirements

Transfer planning

Use a controlled pilot to test the proposed route

  • Align the released product files and approved material list.
  • Compare equipment, tooling, special processes and test fixtures.
  • Define first-article and functional acceptance before the pilot.
  • Record findings, approvals and the configuration released for repeat builds.

Our manufacturing context

Jiangmen and Rayong, with Shenzhen coordination

Keep Best’s manufacturing network includes Jiangmen in Guangdong, China and Rayong in Thailand. Shenzhen provides engineering and commercial coordination. The proposed route depends on the product and the agreed manufacturing work package.

Commercial assessment

Treat origin and tariffs as a separate product-specific decision

A Thailand manufacturing address alone does not establish a product’s origin, duty treatment or market approval. Confirm the applicable product and supply-chain requirements with the responsible specialists before making a commercial decision.
